Q: What will I need to register my child?

A: A copy of your child's immunization record, physical exam & birth certificate is needed to register for camps at Animated Child.

Q: What should my camper bring to summer camp?

A: Campers should apply sunblock and bug guard at home, dress for the weather, bring/wear socks to be able to use the open exploration area and be prepared to be outdoors and/or at field trips after camp by bringing a refillable water bottle. A bathing suit appropriate for public pool use and water shoes are required for pool days.

Q: What are your the teachers qualifications?

A: Animated Child hires college students and graduate students who have a passion for teaching in their respective fields. Our camps are truly unique in that every aspect of STEAM is taught daily exposing your camper to the varied fields in each discipline through engaging hands-on activities!

Q: How is this year's camp different from last years?

A: New field trip sites and technology teachers this summer will make our weekly camps a unique experience for your camper!

Q: Are you indoors all day? How do get our child moving during the summer?

A: We are outside for 1.5 to 2 hours daily for our Math and Science experiences! This year we've incorporated a kinesiology graduate into our team of teachers and she will be applying the science of the different body structures into our camp making sure to get your child moving and grooving this summer!

Q: Does my camper need to bring a lunch?

A: Yes, Campers must bring a refillable water bottle, a NUT FREE lunch, and two snacks.

Q: Does before and after care include meals?

A: No, we do have snack times. You will need to pack them a NUT FREE lunch and two snacks.

Q:How does my camper get to field trip location?

A: Animated Child uses a school bus to transport children to and from field trip locations.

Q:What time is the earliest I can drop my camper off at Animated Child Montclair?

A:Drop-off begins at 6:30am

Q:What time is the latest I may pick up my camper from Animated Child?

A: Pick up is by 6:30pm late fees are $1 per minute.

Q: What if my child has allergies and/or medical needs?

A: All health issues should be documented on your child's emergency card, contract, physical and registration sheet. Animated Child has Medical Administration Trained staff to administer prescription and non prescription medicines as well as inhalants and injections.

Q: How does Animated Child include my child with special needs?

A: Animated Child staff and administration has the VCU paraprofessional training. The director decides what group to place your child in after a parent conference. Any aides accompanying your child will need to have a copy of their background check.
